The Carriage
The carriage is like a typical lift truck because the lifting attachment could be tilted backwards and forwards from its horizontal. The tilt which is possible on this machinery exceeds more than that of the vertical masts. There is a huge range of available lifting attachments, and this positioning ability makes them as effective as possible.
Most telehandlers have the capability of tilting to a position which is actually parallel to the ground. Some units have rotating carriages as well. This allows the operator to radially adjust the lifting attachment. This translates to the load being capable of being tilted forwards and backwards, and side to side.
Load Capacity
Telehandlers have a load capacity quite similar to that of the vertical mast unit. The model's overall capacity would be dependent on things such as: the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable and boom extension and angle, whether the unit is lifting on outriggers or on rubber tires. As well, which lifting attachment plays a very important role, as does the wind, the grade the equipment is operating on and so forth. All of these specifics can be changing regularly and this gives the operator a lot more information to take into account.
Telehandlers would often have several different load charts available to them, giving them a good reference they could use to know a certain lift's load capacity. Depending upon the unit in particular and the boom's configuration, the load capacity could vary by thousands of pounds all together.
